French Speaking Artists: This page is sponsored by a netwwork of French speaking expatriates to introduce visitors to French-speaking artists and musicians. It is possible that a page like this may only help the listed artists, and do very little for our cultural inheritance. The American melting pot has tendency to impose its English-based culture, and by doing so, to erase the homeland culture and inheritance of its immigrants. It does not have to be this way. Foreign artists are present with original ideas and creativity. We have to realize that we do not have to follow the pounding of the media and that with a little bit of an open mind we can all embrace a new world of creativity. In most of the US we can only listen and see English speaking artists, simply because it is easier to market and not because they are better. We can enjoy French, Italian, Spanish, and English songs. With today's technology, why should we enjoy only to a limited selection of artists? Most Europeans see and hear English, Italian, French, German, and Spanish artists daily, but most Americans have to do the extra step. So the purpose of this page is to provide a list of direct links for our visitors (expatriated, immigrants, tourists, students, American Francophiles, and so on...) who are interested in French-speaking singers, musicians, artists and movies.
